​Since its founding, Northfield Montessori has had a strong tradition of parent involvement and financial giving to support our school’s programs, goals and mission.  It is through this tradition of generosity that we ensure a legacy of the highest quality in education and personal development for our children.

 

Tuition alone does not cover the cost of educating our children.  Donations enhance our children’s academic programs allowing Northfield Montessori to keep tuition affordable and provide:

• Financial assistance to current families in need, which helps maintain a diverse and  rich student experience

• Continuing education for our incredible teachers and staff, who so profoundly impact our children’s learning and development

• Enhancing the classroom and community experience for our children.

Each year Northfield Montessori relies on voluntary financial support from our board, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and alumni, parents of alumni, friends and corporate matching gifts through our Annual Fund and Founders Fund.  Additional support comes through our annual fundraising event, the Arbor Auction, as well as Giving Partners, Arbor Store and school picture purchases.

Specific Giving Methods

Gifts of Cash

Check, cash, or credit card payments to Northfield Montessori.  The school does incur fees for credit card donations.

Gifts of Stock

Gifts of stock represent a two-fold savings opportunity.  Donors avoid paying capital gains taxes on the increased values of their stocks.  In addition, donors receive a tax deduction for the full market value of the stock on the date of the gift.  Please contact the school office to obtain Northfield Montessori account information and notify the administrative staff of your gift intentions.

Corporate Matching Gifts

If you or your spouse works for a company that matches charitable gifts, the impact of your contribution can be doubled.  To learn if your company offers matching gifts as an employee benefit simply contact your Human Resources department.  Completed gift forms should be turned in with your donation.

Planned Giving

Planned gifts provide current tax advantages to donors while enhancing the support for facilities or school programs.  Donors may invest in the future of Northfield Montessori through gifts of life insurance or bequests.  Such gifts can provide significant tax advantages to the donor as well as benefits to the school.
